Painting it the same color? Expect to pay somewhere between $2-5K depending on the shop and if thye paint the panels seperate or paint it all on the car. Expect the car to be out for at least a week, depending on how busy they are.

thats not bad im gonna go for that for now save up and do my panesl first becuz the actually body only has paint chips the spoiler needs to be done. im guessing that would run me for about 200 to 300. Thanks for the Help Everyone

Spoiler would be about $100-150, maybe a bit less if you do it with the bumper because he only mixes it once. Save up and get all the panels painted together.
One tip: Check with your state police, it's probably legal to ride without a bumper as it's not the structural part. Just screw the license plate into the retainer bar and you should be good to go.

I saw a shop advertising clearcoat/basecoat today for $899. Summer special, guess they're not busy when there isn't snow.

Only do the entire car if it really needs it, a good repaint will cost you 4-5k+ but any good shop can paint match just the damaged areas and thats much much cheaper.

You didn't have 30 seconds to do a search?

Anyhow you get what you pay for, Macco has paint jobs for a couple hundred bucks if you're looking to only spend a few bucks.

whaqt i would do is call around and see how much it would cost you to just get it painted. the bulk of the cash that is going to be spent is labour for sanding. so why not do it yourself. then all you have to do is send it in to get painted. it might be a little bit of a pain but it would be worth it in my opinion. and also. i would get the whole car painted. your cars paint is going to fade from the sun. so the parts that you paint are going to be brighter and the parts that are not are going to be dull and scratched. its going to look like garbage if you just get certain parts painted.. but thats just my opinion.

Paint shops hate when the bumper is primed before being sent to them unless you know the owner. They may have to undo what you did and they won't stand behind it if the paint flakes off.

yeah. thats true. thats why you should make some calls. see if a friend knows a friend kinda thing. or if you know someone who works in a body shop that will let you work on your car in the shop, even better.

no i didnt know anyone there. just have to look around. i found shops that would do it for $300 and i found shops that wanted $2000-5000... with paint jobs, you get what you pay for. I paid $900 and was happy with the job. If you find a place with a nice price, asked the owner/worker if you could see a finished car... that way you can see if their work is good or not. thats what i did and my car came out great :)

heres a pic right out of the shop

haha the more views i have the better as long as its about this topic. Personally this is how I feel my car has about 92500 miles on it. I want to be able to have this car forever and turn it into a collectable. Money is tight for me right now as i only get paid every other week. In terms of Driveablitly how long do you think this car could last. I mean i know it really depends on the driver. But how long have you seen these cars last for in terms of miles.

Blackhawk

Some people are close to 200,000 miles with that engine. As long as you keep up on maintenance and watch your LIM your engine will last a long time.

I currently go to automotive training center. Im trying to become a tech so im hoping to have this car for quite some time. If anything fails im just going to rebuilt it like the motor and all.

I've got a 99' GA SE2 just hit 80,531 miles...nearly cried when I hit 80grand, but I just had a AED front fascia sent in to the body shop to have it stripped of primer (former owner worked on), reprimered, painted and installed, along with my drivers mirror and spoiller painted, gloss black mesh inserts installed and new fog lamps put in...it only cost me $450 which the shop owner told me they had a heck of a time working with the bumper to get it all lined up right...only had it on for about 3 weeks now and it looks freakin awesome...car looks new other than my pillars but I have carbon fiber ones that I have yet to install...hopefully by the end of the week they will be on.

Quoted at $3000 for a complete paint job and that was 2 toned....and they specialize in custom paints. That makes a huge difference in the price also....if the shop has experience, it'll usually be cheaper.

Doesn't matter whether or not they have experience, a shop is going to charge for paint costs, enough to cover overhead charges, and add whatever they feel is worth their time. Otherwise Maaco is the most experienced around.

Maaco!!! LOL...I've had 8 different cars come into our shop, painted by maaco and they have got to be the worst paint jobs I have ever seen. Primer around door jams, overspray on headlights, tailights around fenderwells, streaks, runs...you name it! Yeah you can get a $3-600 paint job through them but don't be ready to take it to a car show...you'll prolli be laughed at. Experience.....maybe in a top coat paint/clear, but not anything but a plain paint job done very bad.

haha yea well i have a maaco five mins up the road from in and then in the exact opposite direction i have a auto body shop im going to say its privately owned. But its very clean and well maintained. i havnet had the time to go and ask because of work and all but i have to get around to asking both of them. I believe my car is only the basic coat and a clear coat on top of it not sure
