I got a fiberglass front bumper and was wondering how I would get it completely ready to be painted so I didn't have to pay the shop extra for them to do it.

Primer, hit it with some 400 grit sandpaper, make sure its smooth you don't leave any sanding marks, thats about it

You could ask the shop that's going to paint it. They would know exactly what they need.

i would hit it with 180 then 2 nice and heavy coats of a 2k primer!! thats what i do. will get better mechinal adhesion

sand with 230-400 (whatever you got but not TOO gritty). Nice thick coats of primer. Sand with 400 or 600 grit. Make sure it is smoooooooth. And then paint it!

I decided I am going to sell the bumper because I want to convert to GT and hopefully by the end of the winter have the whole SC/T kit, but thanks for the advice anyways.
