i got mine at the dealership. pretty good deal. a cobra for $163. Real good. I think you can get the same for like 130 but mine talks. says like "Laser Alert" so that helps. compas, city or highway, etc

you can get that detector for $104.99 at etronics.com it is after the rebates though it is normally 124, and then you send in a manuufacturers rebate and goes down to 104.99. use bizrate.com when you buy things online, or anything and get stores to price match it at stores, i know circuit city price matches...

I speak from 4 years retail experience at Circuit City and personal experience when i say Bel, Bel, and Bel. you can get a real good one for 100 dollars, it just won't have all the gizmos you don't need on it.

My buddy has the valentine and it gives false alarms everywhere. It's the most annoying radar i've ever seen and heard.

Another vote for the Passport 8500, it beats the V1 in almost every test

Well I wouldn't exactly call the 8500 cheap, as its about $300 online. But its well worth it. I bought one for my girlfriends car and I have a $100 Bel in my car and the 8500 has less false positives and alerts you to REAL threats 3 times as far in advance as my Bel.

it's not cheap, its just not as expensive as some who do less.
