I recently got my 1991 Grand Am going, and my question pertains to one of it's options.
1991-LE coupe (no LE callouts) - has the handling and body package.
I have the owners manual which does not mention this, but I also have the cassette it came with which goes over all of the cars features.
This is what I have figured out; it is definatly NOT an SE, because it does not have: systems moniter or power windows, plus it came with stadard blue cloth interior. - The wheel well flares are also not present. I can only guess that the wheel well flares only came on the SE model, as I have seen no other car like mine.
My aforementioned cassette plainly says that all SE models come with power windows and an LED display under the radio(systems moniter), as well as netted front seats -for extra storage - this would have necessitated getting a 'delux' interior.
It also says that all cars equipped with the handling package with the 2.3 and the 5spd recieved the 180 hp HO engine at no charge.
With this established I turned to my Pontiac book (??)1903-1995, it states in one part that the handling package was WS6 (which would make sense), but then in another section it refers to it as (something like) W33 - none of these codes appear on my spare tire cover.
...
Why would I ask such a mundane question?? - since I am going to fix this car up, I think it would be cool to slap a period correct WS6 badge, but I wouldn't want to put it there unless my car actually has "WS6".

Thanks in advance;

Jonny

You know, I had a 1991 Bonniville LE....but it was an SE. Weird, huh? Only things that made it a non SE was no spoiler and no SE badges.

my '91 GA is a LE, but has the sports package, which gives it the front bumber withg the lower air dam/spoiler, the side ground effects, and the rear bumber with cutouts for dual exhaust and the ground effects as well. My GA has power locks, windows, everything, no power seat though (SE only) no system monitor, leather wrapped steering wheel or shifter (all SE only) etc.... it is a LE with almost everyoption, has the Quad4 w/ auto. My '90 LE (parts car) was a basic LE, no sports package, no power windows or locks, only a few options (had delay wipers and cruise though, and the alloy wheels)

Brad whould be able to help you, he knows alot of the codes witht he suspension and stuff....

something about the '89-'91 GA, not the stock style, as IMO they don't look all that good like that,. but in SE trim, there is something about that, that keeps calling me......kinda a shame that my GA project went to a big end real fast..... Thanks for nothing Dad, among a whole bunch of other crap I now have to deal with from him.....still havn't got my cars, or $800 I spent betwween them, and have a feeling I may not...oh well (very, very long story)

But that is OK, the car I have now blows my GA away every way possible....

....although in the future, I would like to find a mint '91 SE...... Q4 with the 5spd, I dunno, I wouldn't make it a racr car or anything, but I like the style, the Q4 is an awesome engine, and the 5spd would be sweet teamed with it.....

Where did you get this?

The pontiac book which references two different codes call it both a WS6 or W32...

WS6 was, in fact, used on more than just the Firebird - but I am sure many people here knew that! ;)

I am even wondering if the option code for this would show up on the tire cover since it doesn't affect the servicing of the car???

GM RPO Codes (http://www.geocities.com/n1qcr78/rpo3.html)

FE3 is the sport suspension RPO code.

WS6 is a performance package RPO code.

Did you look for the FE3 code on your spare tire cover?
