What years was the HO available? How much horsepower/ tourque did it have? What years could you get the 5-speed with it?

I believe they were available in the pre-92 in the SE models and in the 92-94 in the GT models. The HO produces 180hp@6200rpm and 160ft-lbs@5200rpm.

As I recall it was available in the 95 as its last yr..lol

Nope, '94 was the last year the HO was available. It was ONLY available with a 5 speed (all years). We gotta get the FAQ we lost rebuilt for this section. Also in mid. '93 when the head was changed to the 753 casting, HP was lowered to 175, and in mid. '94 the head was changed again (456 casting) lowering HP to 170. Also it was available on LEs in the pre-92 years.

I'm think they were ALSO available in the LEs (as an option). I'm pretty sure Fbod has an LE that had an HO as OE.

The LEs are the most desirable to some because they are lighter.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering because I want to get a 90-91 GA SE Coupe project car. Something that needs some body work (nothing structural) and needs the engine and tranny rebuilt.

There was no HO available in an SE. The only motors were the LO and optional V6(approx 700 dollars more from the dealership) the V6 was optional till 1998. The newer Generation has the standard V6 in the GT's and V6 is optional in SE models only. The HO's that are in SE's are all swapped by people who know what an HO is.

You're in '92+ gear, Eli. Remember, SE was the top trim level before '92. HOs were availabe in the LE and SE in '91 and earlier. :argue:
