I tried to check for codes with a paper clip today. I read the F.A.Q.
on here and it said to put the paper clip in and to on. then it said the check engine light would flash a 12 then read your codes. My problem is that my check engine light doesnt come on at all. When I stick in the paper clip I hear a click noise but no light comes on. Could my bulb be bad?

I took out the gauges to see if the bulb was bad and to my suprise there wasnt even a bulb in there! I put a bulb in there and I got a code 13. My book says oxygen sensor- open circuit. How do I fix this?

check your wires or wire leading to the O2 sensor and make sure there are no cut wires, damaged wires, etc etc. Also make sure it is plugged in correctly. once you've done that disconnect your negative battery cable and wait 10 seconds or so and then reconnect it. This erases the memory in the computer and your check engine light should stay off. Then run the car and take it for a drive and see if the light comes on again. If it does.... check your codes again, and if not check your codes anyways. If this doesn't work. ..replace the O2 sensor. They are only about 20 dollars. Open ciruit means the that there is a break in the wire somewhere ....so that is why i suggest checking all your wires leading to the O2 sensor. Hope this helps. Let me know what happens. Jr
