For tony, popped my cherry tonight.

this is just copied and pasted from the cobalt forum.

Tonight was the first time i had ran at the strip. Took my friend for Vids and pics. Had a blast i wish i wouldve went sooner. Actually managed to beat a SVT Cobra. Wouldve beat a lt1 z28 but my clutch slipped baaad going into third and it was my first run ever. Slips and vids will be up for haters. Also, idk why but im trapping insanely low with a decent 60 foot time? any advice?

Lt1 z28- 14.21 at 100.27 Me- 15.04 at 98.47 60ft 2.39 (clutch slip baad in third)
Evo 8- 11.45 at 123.26 Me- 14.37 at 100.00 60 ft 2.35
Evo 8- 11.13 at 122.67 Me- 14.69 at 99.28 60 ft 2.56
SVT Cobra- 14.53 at 109.25 Me- 14.39 at 99.73 60 ft 2.32

I think my 60s were decent for my first time. Have to wait till spring but then ill have TVS 2.7 meth, and other things

Im running 2.9 60's, pacesetter header 3 inch dp and catback with a massive leak as you will be able to hear.

i shouldve, but i think it was because A. it was my first time ever running at a track, and B. my stock pirrellis which suck to begin with are really really bad. I cant wait to see what i run in the spring with the TVS and a fresh set of BFG KDW2's

Nice run!

Now, you're going to get addicted.

Heck, I just bought a 2003 Silverado to tow my race vehicle, 2007 TrailBlazer SS, to the track because I don't want to break anything on a driven vehicle and get stuck 100+ miles from home in BFE, Iowa/Illinois/Missouri.

Before 2 yrs ago, I never raced at a track.

Those are bad times especially for your first time. Im surprised they let you run if you are under 18.

You'll get better as time goes along and you get more practice.

I was just about to say that you should be good for around a 13.8-14.0 depending on the DA.

Not bad for a first time and on bald tires. Your 60' times are pretty good. So I am guessing your getting a good launch.

The rest will come with experience. And better tires = so much better grip.
