Is it worth the time to part out

I have a 97 Grand Am Gt 3.1 with 102,000 on it . It was Tboned in the drivers rear quarter panel hours after i had it inspected . So my question is should i just take it to the junkyard or part it out ?

Unless you have a lot of time + place to store/disassemble it, I'd send it to the junkyard. Had a 94 with very rare options... in a year there was barely any interest.

If you're in Allentown, I'm sure Harry's U-pull-it would take it.

lol, and the vultures have arrived. Which brings me to my next point... you'll sell a few random pieces of interior trim for grand total of $20-100 when all said and done. If making that amount is worth it to you, proceed to part. If that's a waste of time, just send it to the yard now.

Exactly. This was one of the main reasons I never parted out my 91. Sure I could have sold a lot of stuff from it but I didn't have the time after being at work all day and having the family time at night I just decided to junk it. I kept a few select pieces but that was it. On top of the time issues I just didn't want a bunch of parts sitting in my garage that I'd possibly have to throw out later down the road.

Personally, I wouldn't want the liability of a stranger on my property, doing something that can potential cause injury/damage. Besides... if there's little interest when you offer to pull/pics/ship then there will be even less if they have to be both local and do all the work.
