no, I had the yellow outline, and I wasn't sure if that was my CEL light.

I hadn't seen any lights with "Check Engine" so I was making sure my bulb wasnt burnt out

Just filled my tank, 26L - 312 Kilometres driven, mostly highway.

I'm under 10L/100km
I'll post the next fillup.

My new supervisor was mentioning he thinks my 'sputter' on startup sometimes is a leaky headgasket, and that the 'sputter' is a little bit of coolant being burned off on start up. I check my oil quite often, definately not milky, and I inspected my sparkplugs last week, one had a touch of oil, but only on the topside of the plug. 100% no coolant anywhere near, on, or around any of my sparkplugs, or even in the general vicinity.

Think my supervisor is crazy?

The lights shouldn't be a mystery or "yellow outline" - it clearly says "Service Engine Soon" on 92-95 clusters.

Matt, the OP is from Canada... A lot of subtle differences between US and Canadian clusters due to Canada being bilingual. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if the warning light is different in Canadian models.

I was unaware of what any of the lights on the 92-95 clusters are but any vehicle i have serviced that had an "Outline of an Engine" that lights up yellow was the CEL.

Easy way to find out, look in the owners manual if you have it of course.

I don't see any outline in my book that has an outline of an engine, mine also says 'Service Engine Soon' when it does appear. I suppose I may be one of the lucky few that still has their owners manual. Didn't know this till the other day but the Window Sticker for my car was still folded up inside the leather case.

I've read thru the owners manual, it doesn't tell me what the lights on my cluster mean.... don't ask me why.

Either way, thats your CEL. Don't know why the manual wouldn't tell you that but that light couldn't be anything else.
