Headers for Pre-99 GAs

Hey guys I have been over on mymonte.com talking to MilzyZ34 about making some headers for pre-99 GAs in addition to the monte carlos. He has agreed that if enough of us are SERIOUSLY interested he will make them for the 3100 and those of us who have done the 3400 swap. He just needs someone with a 92-95 GA so he can make sure they will fit. I think it would be best if it were someone in Ohio. So come on guys can someone in or near Dayton, Ohio let him use your car to mock up the headers? I really want these and i know there's plenty of us who would like them. His email addy is milzyz34@yahoo.com if you want to talk to him.

Oh yeah this is the same guy who is developing the cams for our engines also. So post up and let me know what you guys think.

Just got word back from Milzy. He only wants 5 orders to get them made. That's it...5. Surely there's at least 3-4 others here who'd want these. Not sure if he'd want me releasing the price he quoted me, but uncoated, they're less than the 3400 S&S headers without the cat. Ceramic coating is an additional $150.

Well it would be great if he would accept like half down right now, then when hes done making them, the other half. That would help out a ton I think...

Hi, guys!!

I've been hanging-out in Tech for a year-and-a-half, just trying to keep the Ga working while I paid it off.

She's now quite dependable, and as fun to drive and as suited to my needs as anything will ever be.
So, I'm looking forward to a long-term relationship, and am now interested in POWER and handling/braking.

No desires to do a 3400 swap, since I could buy a '99+ 3400 for not much more than the cost of a swap.

I'm in for the headers, with my now-stock 3100.
A decent cam would be great, too.
Let me know the particulars. No AIM, just PM me.

I want headers, and I'm probably the only one willing to front the money

Fer all FIVE OF US???? What a guy!!

j/k.

I have no problem with 50% up-front for a custom-made thing, but I'm very wary of payment-in-full.

You now have six !! I will upfront for the headers (not painted) and a cam, if the cam has decent specs. and is billet, not regrind. It will prolly use new lifters: specs and prices and availability here, too, please. Tell me where to send the $$$ and how much ..

I'm also willing to front the full amount (for myself ). If you're all seriously interested by all means email milzy at milzyz34@yahoo.com and let him know. I'll email him myself and see if I can dig up any specs/info and any other requirements he has. This is awesome guys! We'll finally have headers yet!

Email the same guy about cams rixGAphx, I believe he also has a selection of N/A and boosted grinds available for the 3x00's.

The only problem I see now is getting someone with a 94-98 V6 grand am for him to tool around with. Also, the beretta's have the same exhaust clearances we do?

here is a PM he sent me about making the headers for us. looks like we can really get them made if you guys really want them:

"that's cool. as long as we get the initial 5 people, i'll make them. the thing about that is that i would want these 5 payed in full, b/c the to start the production of a new set of headers, it takes close to 2k to make the first two sets and fixtures. so yeah i think we can do the non-refundable deposit for now, but before we start production, everyone needs to be payed in full, b/c if i can make 5 at once, the production price goes down a little, and i can make the headers without losing money, or atleast much money. are these posts on grandamgt.com? if so, can you give me a link.

oh yeah, details on the headers ... 1 5/8's primaries, lazer-cut flanges, mild steel, v-band clamps instead of traditional flanges. price will be around 450 non-coated, 600 ceramic coated."

Oooooooooohhhh.... I'm excited... its gonna be hard to come up with $450 right away but if theres some sort of receipt / gaurantee or something... idk its just scary doing that over the internet.

ANYWAYS, they sound like a good deal... how does this work though as far as downpipe? Do we need to then get a custom one made or is there one included or do we use stock? Also, the o2 sensor... just a couple concerns of mine.

Some more info to digest: "due to the small amount of room these headers have to fit in, equal-length may be hard to get. we'll do what we can, but they will probably be unequal. we haven't determined primary length yet, we'll do that on the car."

Long story short: Some of the most influential factors of the headers won't be known until they're made. Un-equal length headers aren't all bad though. Instead of a large high-end power gain we'll see a slightly smaller gain, only throughout a broader RPM range.

Also for those who might want to know. Milzy only accepts Paypal and/or money orders.

I'm not giving $450 to someone who I don't know at all. I don't have a problem giving half down, then when they are done the other half... but I would like to actually talk to this person, not listen to the "oh he said this, now we do this." No... I'm sorry but $450 is a lot of money to risk.

Anyways if he posts on here and we have a set place for discussion / updates and all his contact information I would be a little more willing to do it. Anyways I have half ready right now...

And are we gauranteed to notice a difference? I don't want to spend $450 for 10 hp... just a thought.

headers are only supposed to give you 10hp aren't they. if you want to talk to him, e-mail him. he said he would try to remember to make a thread, but he's trying to finish his company's website by the deadline.
