Can you?

Yes

Should you?

No

You need a Line-out converter (LOC) to use the factory HU. Just splice into the back speakers and plug your RCAs into the LOC for signal.

I always advise people against this. You will get a much more reliable signal from an aftermarket HU, every LOC I have installed works fine for a short period of time then starts to go out. (insert installation joke here) but by the time you went and bought a really expensive LOC, you might as well just replace the HU

i agree with messenjah, except my gf has had one in her car for the last 2 yrs and has not had any problems. although to get the best sound quality out of the sub and speakers, a new hu is always recommended

I agree with these guys. A new head unit is definitely the best choice in most circumstances. An LOC will be going in my girlfriends jeep soon, but that's only because soft top wranglers are a little too easy to get into if anything appealing is visible. Otherwise, she has a nice pioneer deck that would be going in, instead.
